I of course,
I had my alarm
installed at Circuit City. Around $650-$750 for all the
parts and install. Since I was around for just about
the entire install, which took a few days, I was able to give some
input on how a few things were done and do a few things to add a
personal touch to the system. |
|
One
of the main things I did, and the one I like the most, was add a
LED in the front of the rear view mirror. I did this long
before I had the alarm, but before, I had it on constant when the
truck was off, kind of a fake warning light. Now it blinks
in sync with the alarm. |
|
I also changed the
switch around that turns the head/fog/parking lights on so that
the fog lights come on anytime any lights come on. I no
longer have to pull the switch out to get them to come
on. I did this so that when the truck is remote
started, the parking lights and fog lights both come on and stay
on constant while the truck is in remote start mode.

Since the alarm has
one extra channel after all the remote start, window modules, and
arm and disarm, I wanted to hook that extra channel up so that I
could turn my cargo light on from my remote. It's nice to be
able to push a button on the remote now at night when I need
something out of the back of the truck. I no longer have to
unlock the truck, reach inside and turn on all the interior lights
to get the cargo light to come on, then have to remember to shut
it off when I'm done. From the time I turn it on with the
remote, it stays on for 90 seconds, then automatically shuts
off.
